"Sparrow's" Thomas {Sparrow} who lived at Bocking, where he arrived to a very great age, and was buried; according to his desire expressed in his will dated 8 November 1595. By Joane ... his wife he had two sons, John and Clement, and two daughters...-John the eldest son lived at Earl's Colne..., and was steward to John de Vere, the great Earl of Oxford. He married Agnes, one of the daughters and coheirs of John Worthie of Blomsters Esq.; by Elizabeth his wife, daughter of John Warner of Boys-Hall in Halsted Esq {see above, p. 250, 252}. By her he had Agnes; and five sons, John, Anthony, Edward, Thomas and William....-John, the eldest son succeeded his father here; being descended by his mother's side from the Worthies, Warners, Helions, Swynborns, Boutetorts, and Gernons, all ancient families, of which the last two were of the old nobility."
