In the name of God amen I Robert Merrit of the Parish of hempsted in the County of Queens and Province of New Brunswick being of perfect Memory and sound in My Judgment calling to Mind the frailty and uncertainty of human life do therefore Recommend my soul to God who gave it to me and my Body to be decently Intered in the Earth at the discretion of my Exectors herein mentioned and after the payment of all my Just debts and funeral charges and whatever expenses may accrue on proving thereof in the Surrogates office after my deceas I give and Bequeath in the following manner In the first place I give and Bequeath to my feme Consort Elizabeth the whole of my lands Cows sheep Hogs House and houshold furniture during her Natural life upon provisor that she my feme Consort does not waste or destroy any of my movable Estate which shall be looked into by my Executors I give unto My son Caleb the sum of ten shillings and if my Grand Doughter Anna Heustis marries before my feme Consorts deceas I ordain that she shall have one Cow and three sheep and one Bedsted and Bedding suitable there unto and six chairs one pot and one Kettle Table and six Knives and forks and six apoons and whatever may remain of my Estate after my feme Consorts decease shall be Equally divided among my three sons and two daughters only with this previsor that there shall be paid to my Grandson and Grand doughter to wit Jno and Elizabeth Merrit the sum of six pounds five shillings Each I do hereby constitute and ordain John Golding Esquire and my sons Gilbert and Isrel Merritt Executors of this my last will and testament the word two Interlined in this way Between the fourth and fifth lines was wrote before the sealing hereof Inwitness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal November the tenth one thousand Eight Hundred and one.
