Will of Gideon Golding, entered 30th September 1686.
In the Name of the Glorious & undivided Trinity Amen, I Gideon Golding of the Parish of St Lucys in the Island of Barbados; Planter, being at present in health of body and in sound and perfect memory praised be god, but calling to mind the the uncertainty of this transitory life and being willing to settle my Estate before my death....
I dispose of and bequeath as followeth, And first concerning my now wife by name Kathrin Golding, .... one equal moyety of half part of the ipne and proffits of all and songular my Estate real and personal in this Island consisting of forty acres of land together with the mansion house and all houses; ... and of twelve Negroes by name Macco, Bep, Baddue, Hagar, Sue, Judy Finnay Nannilibb Cattobo Kate and Mall; ... for and during the term of her natural life, in full satisfaction of her dower if she will accept thereof and continue a widow...
Item I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved cousin Persivall Goldring citizen of Lond, now of this Island, sonn of my second Brother Arthur Goldring late inhabitant of Moore Fields Decd... the othe moiety or halfe part....and after the decease of may said wife... the other moiety...
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Percivall Golding now liveth in Barmudas, my best silver drinking cupp together with my armes and wearing apparell and the nth quantity of five hundred pounds of Musa Sugar to be sent to him within one year after my Death, If lif be then living
Item ... unto my said brother; One thousand pounds of Musa Sugar every year; during the space of four years after my decease... During the space of his natural life and no longer and whereas. Their remains Eight more of my Brothers Percival children in Barmudas who are likewise my wifes sisters children....each of the said children shall have and receive ... The quantity of One thousand pounds of Musa Sugar as they shall severally arrive to the age of one and twenty years and personally Demand the same herein Barbados and not otherwise;...
